week-of-4-13-2026
Hello
Welcome back! The watchlist is finally out…I’m realizing the real effort that it takes to write these posts, especially during college finals season… I don’t really have a set schedule but how do people do it? With those feelings in mind: today’s post is very binge-full, as in stuff I binged since the last post.
From now on, whenever I cover a specific episode or such an infobox will say which episode. When it doesn’t have one, expect it to cover all of the series up to the date of publication.
With that all out of the way, let’s get to it!
Last week’s checklist
So how much of the checklist did I complete? The result is…
- Spring 2026 anime
- watch 2 or more episodes of Pokemon Horizons per week
- read more Detective conan
- give this blog a title
- write my blogs in a proper document first because oh my god writing this in notepad is hell
- write small sections for the blog after I do things so it doesn’t cut into my college time too much
- fix some of the links in this blog to eliminate the TinyBones reference(I’ll credit the template when I work on the about page later)
I did everything I wanted to in some form…Yes.. Including the blog’s proper name: Forever Young! Wait… You waited all this time for that title!? Didn’t you make a whole speech of not naming it that!? Some of you may be thinking like that. Well, I mentioned last week this blog was supposed to be titled Forever Young… and Forever Young was supposed to be named The Website of All Time. After consideration, I deleted the nekoweb site. I kinda had all I wanted in this website. I can control it as much as I want and play around with things as much as I want. The nekoweb itself was supposed to be the blog, anyways. Maybe in the future I’ll actually go back and do it, but for now, this is Forever Young!
As for the other updates, since the Nekoweb site is gone,. I have placed an old simple game I made in MakeCode back in 2020 because I was bored. It was in my Github, so I just dragged it out and slapped it here. Maybe I’ll bring up my Scratch page at some point. To go along with the Forever Young title, a new favicon is here! The title was partly inspired by a certain character, so for now, the icon will be that certain character.
The SEO page has been updated as well, and now features my Github and barely used Twitter. The Song of the Week has been updated as well.
Pokemon was fun, but I want to watch a certain few episodes before I talk about it. Conan wsan’t anything noteworthy.
A new snippet has been added: Planned Posts! I keep saying “I want to really dive into this and that in its own post”, so here’s a page to keep track of those secondary posts. Currently, it’s almost finals season, so some of these won’t come out now, but I can confirm they’ll happen, I promise!
I switched to Google Docs for note writing, and then test stuff via localhosting before I continue. It’s so much better I don’t know why i was originally typing with Notepad to begin with.
The last update is a silly one that doesn’t mean much, but what were to happen if you get a 404 or 500 error? not much but hey i didn’t realize i had those files.
Animanga
Nighttime Reads: Ichigo Marshmallow
I want to start by introducing a section that will continue to show up from now on: Nighttime Reads. For a while now, I’ve developed a habit of reading manga before bed(like I don’t spend all my time reading manga). These are usually SoL to make me laugh a little and sleep happily (Although I’ve also been reading the Fate/Grand Order main story during the same time, but we’ll talk about that some other post). Maybe I’ll go over it in a different post, but this time I want to go over one I recently finished: Ichigo marshmallow. This manga took a bit for me to like but I liked it’s comedy once I understood it. The hard panel cut when it comes to beating the ever living shit out of Miu is really funny. Always gets me. Also Matsuri and Ana are in fact angels who should be protected. The series has unfortunately been on hiatus, although the author is still continuing doujin activities and privately selling his own merch of the manga. I think the manga might get a bit formulaic past a certain point for some people, but isn’t that all CGDCT? If it’s still funny, then it’s still fine.

D-frag
This is the standout from the binges covered imo. I had picked up D-Frag before, but dropped it due to…idk to be honest. But I picked it back up on a whim during nightime reads. The reason it’s not listed under that is because I usually keep nighttime reads in…the night, and they usually don’t cross over to morning reads. It also wasn’t planned to be a nighttime read. But god this manga is a fun time. It’s the epitome of the Japanese manzai(straight man, funny man) routine taken to the absolute extreme. Being the straight man isn’t just hard, it’s literally a power the protagonist has. Only him and those from his family can do so many tsukkomis (usually just him and his sister Moe). Others try, but can’t reach their level of tsukkomi power, or get tired due to lack of lung capacity. MC shaved his head to win rock paper scissors. His family’s hair is so spiky that it is not only a weapon, but its literally their sole recognizable feature, where they only realized Moe was his sister because they touched her hair and it had the same spikiness. I’ll cut this off because I think I’ll give this one it’s own post. Also aliens are real lmaoooooooooo.

Ascendance of a Bookworm
I didn’t think I’d enjoy this as much as I did. It’s surprisingly realistic in its takes and how Myne can’t avoid certain parts of fate, but there’s loopholes to everything. Therefore, she’s abusing loopholes all the time to get what she wants and I kinda enjoy it. She can show preference to her birth family in part 3, and write letters to them without breaking the magic contract. Parts 1 and 2 are pretty good. I also like how slowly paced it is. It’s literally only been like 3 years or so in-universe. The content actually feels like a year’s worth of stuff happening, and progress feels well paced. You know, for being the most amount of content on this list, I don’t have much to say about it other than it’s nice. I might watch the part 3 anime since it’ll probably get through content before the manga finishes. Too busy to read the LN.

Slime Diaries
I’ve been getting back into Tensura recently, albeit only the manga. However, I also binged all of Slime Diaries, the 4koma spinoff. Since it’s written by Fuze himself, most events in the story are canon, except for when it parodies a serious event and makes fun. Yuuki gets a lot more characterization in this manga, and it kinda shows his playfulness and how he treats everything like a game. I believe this is on purpose, especially because the manga itself takes some events seriously. It did a long, serious take on the Tensura massacre, which honestly hit harder than the main show, partly because of the contrast between the usual goofy nature of Slime Diaries and the serious take it did on the massacre. Also really shows how Yuuki is the only always non-serious character. The entire manga is a fun time. Also like how it actually incorporates the Trinity in Tempest characters and plot. I haven’t read it but the manga makes it obvious they’re there.

My Ribdiculous Reincarnation
Back at it again with not just 1 but 2 half episodes of reincarnation wack. The first half with the Hermit Crab was honestly not as good as the second half. The animation looked like a game concept teaser, but I didn’t hate it. The face of realization the hero has about why the Hermit Crab was so powerful was pretty funny. The second half, however, was funnier than the first. The claymation was already pretty nice to begin with. But the door talks being transferred as voices inside the maou’s head was so funny. I did also like the 12 visually distinct heroines that was nice. I also like that the MC and Goddess are actually bonding somewhat and just kinda tolerating the other. This show isn’t for everyone, but right now? God damn it’s for me.

Star Detective Precure
Cure Arcana Shadow is here! Her popularity before her full reveal and allat has been unmatched for the franchise. All she did was eat ice cream and be the newbie in the villain team, too. But her merch keeps selling out and having to be limited. For the first time in franchise history, a character read the sponsor messages in the anime. She was THAT popular before her release. And Toei noticed. They released her transformation debut episode on Youtube without region lock even before Crunchyroll uploaded the translation. They banked all in after seeing this early popularity, and it paid off. According to some people I know, her art SPIKED way more than it already did. And the episode itself? Really good. The phantom thieves actually did phantom thief shit. And then there was Luluka’s transformation which might be one of the best in the entire franchise. It’s a wonder. Her transformations into both a police officer in episode 10 and librarian in ep11 are both pretty cute. I’m interested in hearing Luluka’s history with the Curetto Detective Agency. Also based on her information in ep11, she stalks the procure. It’s not weird, especially because the entire guild already knows that’s their home base, which is a very interesting concept and I hope they use that knowledge more.

Magical Sisters LuluttoLilly
So in the spring watchlist post, I said this show didn’t have official subs in English. Well, now it does! Bandai Namco uploaded episode 1 and 2 on youtube with quite a lot of subtitle options. Episode 3 released yesterday, but we don’t know what the official english release will look like beyond these 3 episodes. I predict it’ll be youtube releases of last week’s episode every week of a new episode, but fansubs will cover you if you don’t like waiting.
Episode 2 was a better hook than episode 1. Fuu’s magic showed signs of half-failure, which will be interesting to cover. Turns out this is also an idol show. Hmm. Song was alright but Fuu kept using her magic. It’ll be interesting seeing this literal elementary schooler living the double life.
Episode 3 introduced us to Production Once More. It was alright, and we also got Rui’s transformation. So now we have 2 magical girls who have to keep being secret about their magical girls lives. I’ll continue watching.

Games
What the Car
I thought about this game recently and continued playing it. I’ve 100%ed What the Golf, and that was honestly a fun game. Its very level based, so you can easily be on and off the game as you please. What the car is no different, except it does more of everything. More levels, more difficulty, more stupid references, more bullshit, etc. It’s a bit more formulaic and repetitive to me imo maybe due to the more limited controls, but it still grabs me after a bit of being bored. It delayed the release of this post a bit lol.

Next Time
Not much for next time because of college finals. Probably no site updates or secondary posts till May unless absolutely necessary(no idea what that means). Main posts will continue. Bye Bye!
